Synopsis

Gabrielle, a 19-year-old, finds herself stuck near Death Valley between two parents who no longer speak to each other. The three of them, feeling trapped, try to escape the tension, in a huge scenery that feels unchangeable. The situation seems impossible, until an unexpected event comes to unravel everything...

Mathilde Parquet

Born in 1990, Mathilde Parquet studied art at l’Atelier de Sèvres, then animation at EMCA school and La Poudrière, where she directed Louis (2013) and Little Man (2015), both selected at the Annecy Festival. She then started working as an animator and storyboarder on several projects. Trona Pinnacles is her first professional film, wherein she explores once again the strange, or even the fantastic, to express the interiority of her characters.
