Nino Kovačić is a freelancer on film and media-based cultural projects. He holds an MA in Comparative Literature and History from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb and in Comparative History from the Central European University in Budapest. As a festivals' programme and production associate, he contributed as a film programmer and programme and event coordinator, working with Animafest, ZagrebDox, Zagreb Film Festival, 25 FPS Festival, Days of Croatian Film in Croatia, and Kaboom, Cinekid and IFFR in the Netherlands. A member of the Croatian Film Critics Association and FIPRESCI, and jury member at dozens of festivals (Jerusalem FF, Krakow FF, GoEast, IDFA, among others). He writes for relevant film and cultural media, and professional periodicals (Filmonaut, Croatian Film Chronicles, Zapis…), online (Tportal, Talking Shorts, Zona filma, kulturpunkt.org, Jutarnji list...) and Channel 3 of Croatian Radio. As a film educator, he has organised and mentored many film analysis workshops for children, young adults, students and elderly film enthusiasts.
