Thiago Martins de Melo (São Luís, Brazil, 1981) is a filmmaker and visual artist. He directed the short films Bárbara balaclava (2018) and Rasga Mortalha (2020), both acclaimed for their singular imagery and symbolic intensity. In 2025, he released his first feature film, Matamortes, consolidating his authorial language in the field of experimental and animated cinema. His films have circulated through major film festivals, garnering awards and critical recognition by constructing a diverse and visually powerful imaginary of contemporary Latin America.
