Mamie lives in Gaspésie in a house that faces away from the sea. When the old woman receives an expropriation notice, her cloistered world crumbles. Her granddaughter witnesses this uprooting and starts to question the lack of real ties between them.
Janice Nadeau (1977 Gatineau, Canada) worked as the artistic director for various organisations. She has illustrated many books and is a three-time recipient of the prestigious Governor General’s Award for her illustrations. In 2014, she co-directed her first animated film with Nicola Lemay, No Fish Where to Go. Her latest project, Mamie, is a very personal film and a co-production between Folimage and The National Film Board of Canada.
