Alla Churikova was born in Russia, grew up in Ukraine, and living in Germany since 2000. She graduated in architecture from Kiev Building Institute (KISI). She worked as an animator at the Ukrainafilm Film Studio on over 20 films, and as an animator and background artist at German animation studios Balance Film, Cartoon-Film, Munich Animation, Animoto, Trixter. In 2007 she founded Studio Allanimation with Dmitri Popov. Her films are: E=mc2 (1996), Passion fatale (2001), Woman Below the Ice (Die Eisbaderin, 2003), For Mathilde (2008), Frog, Rabbit and the Red Telephone (2011), Emilie (2012), Nikozi 2008 (2013), A Fat Little Lady (Eine kleine Dickmadam, 2015).
