Andrea Martignoni (Bologna, 1961) studied Geography at the University of Bologna until 1994. In 2005 he received an additional diploma in music after a stay at the Cinémathèque québécoise in Montréal. Based on his extensive knowledge of the history of animated film, he created numerous sound designs for the genre, including Fino (2006), Muto (2008) and Big Bang Big Boom (Best Soundtrack in Dresden Intl. Short Film Festival 2011) by Blu. He also collaborated with animation filmmakers Saul Saguatti and Pierre Hébert and has organised frequent audiovisual performances with artists like Basmati and the Compagnia d'Arte Drummatica. He regularly conducts workshops in co-operation with cultural centres and international film festivals.
