Lea Vučko
Lea Vučko is a Slovenian animation director and illustrator who studied illustration at the University of Ljubljana, where she discovered her interest in visual storytelling. After graduation, she shifted to animation and worked on acclaimed shorts and commercial projects, including Prince Ki-Ki-Do, Weasel, Špela Čadež’s Orange Is the New Black commission for Netflix, and Somewhere Else. In 2022, she made her directorial debut with The Legend of Goldhorn, inspired by Slovenian folklore, which screened at over 80 festivals. She is the co-founder of Octopics, a studio she runs with Damir Grbanović. Lea is now distributing her second short, The Girl Who Wasn’t Afraid of Bears, produced by Invida, while developing new projects at Octopics.
