Synopsis
In 1947, the cemetery of Miren was split by a new border between Italy and Yugoslavia, dividing the living and the dead. As life adjusted, people found ways to overcome the divide, showing that while borders are drawn on maps, human connection continues beyond them.
Lea Vučko, illustrator by education and animator by profession, has animated on Prince Ki-Ki-do, Weasel, Spela Čadež’s OITNB Netflix commission and Somewhere Else, a contemporary puppet play. She is the co-creator of two site-specific projects that were selected for Animafest’s Animation goes MSU (Petris, Spring Cleaning) and cofounder of Octopics production studio. Her debut short film The Legend of Goldhorn was screened at more than 90 film festivals, receiving 13 awards.
Damir Grbanović graduated in 3D animation from IAM in Ljubljana. In 2013, he spent a year studying animation at ESAD in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. He earned his BA degree in 2014 from the School of Arts at the University of Nova Gorica, combining artistic vision with technical knowledge in animation. He is a co-founder of the production company Octopics.
