Synopsis
Silent Cinema is a coming-of-age story set in a small theater at the end of the silent film era, where a former movie star clings to the past by screening only silent films. His son grows up in this world, unaware of the changes beyond its walls, until a strange discovery unsettles his beliefs, shattering the fragile bond between them.
Krste Gospodinovski is a Macedonian director and animator. He studied painting at the National Art Academy Sofia and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in cultural studies/animation. He is a professor and head of the animation department at the University of Audiovisual Arts – Europa Prima – Skopje, and one of the founders of the festival for European short animated films, Flipbook Film Festival in Skopje. His short animated films (author/co-author) Gottlieb (2018), Snakelet (2020), and Not-Being (2023) have been screened at over sixty festivals and won several awards.
