Synopsis
A ritual in the form of a film essay that explores, through collage, the feeling of displacement when migrating in early childhood, as an initial configuration of detachment from territory, family environment, and the body, while seeking to recover the origin as a symbolic center.
Mariana Mendivil (Hermosillo, Sonora, 1995) is a filmmaker, collage artist, and stop motion animator. She graduated from the National School of Cinematographic Arts (ENAC-UNAM) as a filmmaker and from Bande à Part in Barcelona, where she studied screenwriting. She won the Best Mobile Device Cineminute Award at the 7th Metropolitan Cineminute and Brief Narratives Festival. She was a grantee of the Artistic Creation and Development Stimulus Program of the Sonora State Fund for Culture and the Arts (PECDA-FECAS) 2017-2018 and the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) for Young Creators in the video category 2022-2023.
