Synopsis

Downtime is a work dedicated to the low points of time. The short film examines the space between existences in Norwegian artist Ellisif Hals’s artworks. What happens when life gets flooded by low tide? What happens between the layers of a drawing during off-seasons?

Yuvia Maini

Yuvia Maini is an animator and artist working in immersive storytelling. With a background in motion design, painting, and programming, her practice blends non-conforming narratives and new technologies into stories that the viewer can interact with. Her current work focuses on expanding the correlation between still and moving imagery through hand-drawn techniques and XR (extended reality technologies). She has created permanent artworks around Sweden and her work has been showcased in film festivals and exhibitions internationally. She is part of the artist collective Misschiefs, Rumtiden Idea Lab, and is the founder of the animation studio BLOBB.TV.
