Synopsis
Based on a true event that took place in Sardinia in 1940, against the backdrop of fascism and on the eve of the Second World War, the film tells the story of a horse theft carried out against a military farm. The protagonists are two boys, aged 11 and 14, driven entirely by idealistic motives: to free the horses so they won’t die in the war. They succeed, but on their way back, they are intercepted by the rural militia, and one of them is killed.
