Instead of a regular festival press release expected by the public and the media this time of year, the organisational team of the 30th World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb 2020, planned to take place on 8-13 June, was forced to make a decision on postponing the planned festival dates due to the presence of the COVID-19 virus and the aftermath of the recent earthquake in Zagreb.
Following the situation in Croatia and globally, the new dates will be announced in time. In terms of organisation and programming, Animafest Zagreb 2020 is ready, but together with the Animafest Scanner VII symposium it awaits better days.
While we wait for the new festival dates, Animafest Zagreb has prepared a new project that should be interesting to all animation lovers, under the title Animafest Insights, available on the festival’s website and social media pages.
In order to share with you a bit of the Animafest Zagreb's allure and introduce you to the most successful works of animation that marked animation scene in last few years, our artistic director Daniel Šuljić has selected the films that highlighted our previous festival editions. Daniel also spoke to the authors so as an introduction to the film we'd like to invite you to have a glimpse inside the animators everyday work-life rhythm in these circumstances.
