Synopsis

In this short film, a man has just buried the woman he loved. Family, friends and guests gather at his house after the funeral. As the afternoon wears on, they head home one by one till the man is left alone with his grief.

Pascal Blanchet

Pascal Blanchet is a self-taught illustrator whose interests include music, architecture and 20th century design. His cartoon strips and graphic novels (La fugue, Rapide-Blanc, Bologne, Le Noël de Marguerite) have received numerous awards in Quebec and abroad over the last 15 years. He’s also worked as a designer and illustrator for many magazines, newspapers, publishers and artists, including Wes Anderson and Pierre Lapointe. The Procession, co-directed with Rodolphe Saint-Gelais, marks his first foray into animation.

Rodolphe Saint-Gelais

Self-taught Montreal artist Rodolphe Saint-Gelais works in both animation and illustration, two complementary fields that allow for a constant flow of ideas back and forth. After working in television and advertising, he ventured into the world of filmmaking with Dédé à travers les brumes (2009), whose opening sequence he drew and animated. He’s since designed the visuals for numerous animated series in addition to creating animated music videos, illustrated stories and short films.
