Synopsis

Volleyis a love story, in a sense it is 'the' Love Story, that grand tale which we never cease to applaud: the brutality of biological lust tempered by the delicate delusions of adoration. The monkeys of 'Volley' are cursed by their creator with deeply corrupted bodies, with scarred skin and secret interiors. They inhabit a world the colors of spun sugar and wedding mints, where rutting lust and infinite tenderness are indivisible.

Monica Cook

Monica Cook, an artist originally from Dalton, GA, graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design in 1996. In 2004, she completed a residency at the School of Visual Arts in New York, where she now lives and works. Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States and abroad. Her first animation Deuce (2010) was selected for YouTube Play Biennial, Guggenheim, New York, Bilbao, Berlin and Venice, 2010 and KROK Animated Film Festival 2011. Volley is her second film to date.
