AFN Edu is a programme of activities, focusing on animation students, with the aim to facilitate mobility and international collaboration and networking for emerging European authors. It is organized by the Animation Festival Network - AFN, a network connecting five leading animation festivals from Central and Eastern Europe (the CEE region), all dedicated exclusively to auteur animated films for both young and adult audiences. With the World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb (Croatia) as the network coordinator, the network also includes Anifilm International Festival of Animated Films (Czech Republic), Fest Anča International Animation Festival (Slovakia), Animest International Animation Film Festival (Romania) and Animateka International Animated Film Festival (Slovenia).

Eight European animation schools will present their study programmes and a selection of films: Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb (Croatia), Academy of Arts of the University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia), Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design UMPRUM in Prague (Czech Republic), VŠMU from Bratislava (Slovakia), UNATC (Bucharest, Romania) and Kunsthochschule Kassel (Germany), Banja Luka Academy of Arts (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and New Bulgarian University from Sofia (Bulgaria).

Both the presentations of the schools and film screenings are open to the public and admission is free.
