Synopsis

Son! is the artist's lament over the fate of women in Montenegro, nowadays. Those trapped in the shackles of patriarchy and those never born. Because the patriarchy pronounced the verdict that they are unwanted and redundant. Because Montenegro is facing a problem that is kept silent: sex-selective abortions. This is a film about them, the unborn. A lament over the genocide of women that no one acknowledges. Because it's time to wake up. And because someone has to raise the voice for the salvation of unborn daughters. Son! is calling for you.

Goran Ivanović

Goran Ivanović is a computer engineer, specialist in design and computer animation (2D/3D). Co-owner, CEO and Director of animation of the creative Studio Košnica. Father. Co-author of the first Montenegrin animated band for children and ABC book - Magarad (Donkeys) – whose goal is to teach children true values. Co-author of the digital brand and luxury monograph Izbačaji (Kickouts) that illustrates the speech of a certain local community in Montenegro. Co-author of the socially engaged project Djevojčice sa klikerima (Girls with Marbles), which aims to point out the value of girls. Son! is his directorial debut and solo performance of drawing and animation.

Nina Đukanović

Nina Đukanović graduated in economy, creative director and co-founder of the creative studio Košnica, CEO of NGO Dobar život; yoga teacher, fighter for a good life for hers and all other children. Co-author of the first Montenegrin animated band for children and ABC book - Magarad (Donkeys) – whose goal is to teach children true values in a fun way. Co-author of the digital brand and luxury monograph Izbačaji (Kickouts) that illustrates the speech of a local community in Montenegro. Co-author of the socially engaged project Djevojčice sa klikerima (Girls with Marbles), which aims to point out the value of girls. Son! is her directorial, acting and dramaturgical debut.
