Synopsis

The Spineis a poignant story of redemption that takes us into a relationship between a man and a woman trapped in a spiral of mutual destruction. Dan and Mary Rutherford, married 26 years, sit unhappily in a couples’ group counselling session. Angela, another troubled participant in this group, wonders why their marriage has become so lopsided, so twisted. But when Mary leaves Dan, he undergoes a beautiful transformation. What will happen when she returns?

Chris Landreth

Chris Landreth went into animation as a second career after a stint as an engineer. He received his MS degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois in 1986. In 1994 Landreth joined Alias/Wavefront, where it was his job to define, test and abuse animation software, in-house, before it was released to the public. His films include The End (1995), Bingo (1998), but he earned his wide-range recognition with an Oscar-winning film Ryan (2004), pushing the boundaries of the visual technique he calls psycho-realism.
