Synopsis

Every time he goes to bed and turns off the light, he remembers something urgent: the toilet seat is up, his slippers are not exactly parallel, the tap is dripping… Unfortunately, the small house, where everything happens, is located on the shore. What does it look like from the dark sea? Doesn’t it remind… Yes, it does and catastrophe is on its way...

Kristjan Holm

Kristjan Holm (1976) graduated in interior design from the Estonian Academy of Arts in 1999. He designed public interior spaces, participated in Venice Architectural Biennale as ambassador of Trojan Horse Toilet in 2004, performed different spatial experiments, but the understanding that a room is limited with four walls still troubled him. He unexpected discovery that film frame has four edges as well, gave the final impulse to change the subject and dedicate his life to the exploration of the ties between frame and wall. He enrolled in the MA studies at the Estonian Academy of Arts Animation  Department in 2007. Small House is his first animated film.
