Synopsis

The latest film from the award-winning animator Théodore Ushev depicts the maelstrom of anguish that tormented Arthur Lipsett, a famed Canadian experimental filmmaker who died at the age of 49. His descent into depression and madness is explored through a series of images as well as sounds taken from Lipsett's own work.

Theodore Ushev

Théodore Ushev (1968) studied graphic arts and started out designing publicity posters, working as an artistic director for magazines and teaching. After moving to Montreal in 1999, he became involved in exploring new media design, an interest that led him straight to animation. In 2003 he made Vertical as part of the Cineweb Competition held by the NFB, followed by films Tower Bawher, Tzaritza and The Man Who Waited in 2006, as well as Drux Flux in 2008.
